THE ZETTER COLLECTION EXPANDS INTO EUROPE, DEBUTING THE ZETTER 717 AMSTERDAM

The Zetter Collection is set to expand beyond the UK for the first time with the opening of The Zetter 717 Amsterdam in early 2027. Located in a historic canal house on Prinsengracht in Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed Canal District, the 24-room, five-star boutique hotel will bring The Zetter’s distinctive, characterful approach to hospitality to the Dutch capital.

Originally built in 1810 in the Empire style, with a rear structure dating back to the 17th-century Dutch Golden Age, the property reflects Amsterdam’s architectural heritage. The building has been redesigned by award-winning designer James Thurstan Waterworth, whose studio also led the design of The Zetter Bloomsbury. Waterworth’s interiors combine the building’s historic character with The Zetter’s signature lived-in luxury. Aged brass, reclaimed timber, antique mirrors and rich textiles create a layered, collected atmosphere throughout the property.

Two public spaces will anchor the hotel. The Garden Room will offer a botanical, conservatory-style setting for breakfast overlooking the private garden, while The Library will provide a more intimate space for drinks and small bites, featuring book-lined walls, warm rust and burnt-terracotta tones, aged brass and reclaimed oak.

The Amsterdam property will be led by General Manager Yara Al Hattouni, whose local expertise will help shape the hotel’s connection to the city and its community. The Zetter 717 Amsterdam aims to respect the history and character of its building and neighbourhood while introducing the collection’s warm, intuitive approach to hospitality. Offering a residential retreat along Amsterdam’s historic canals, the hotel marks a new chapter for The Zetter as it establishes its first presence outside the UK.
