BARRACA RODIZIO GRILL & BAR OPENS A SECOND LOCATION IN AMSTERDAM

Barraca, the Brazilian restaurant concept founded by brothers Jelrick and Warner Claus, is expanding from its successful Hoofddorp location to Amsterdam. Known for its premium meat dishes, vibrant atmosphere and long, sociable dining experiences, the restaurant introduces its authentic Brazilian rodizio concept to the capital, adding a spacious waterside terrace and an even greater emphasis on creating a complete evening out.

The Claus brothers come from a family with more than 50 years of experience in Dutch hospitality, giving them a deep understanding of how food, atmosphere and service combine to create memorable experiences. Their inspiration for Barraca traces back to their father, Rick Claus, who discovered Brazil's rich food culture while travelling through South America. He was captivated not only by the quality of Brazilian churrasco but also by the country's relaxed dining culture, where people gather for hours to share food and conversation. This philosophy became the foundation of Barraca's Hoofddorp restaurant and is now being brought to Amsterdam.

At the heart of Barraca is the traditional Brazilian rodizio experience. Passadores continuously serve premium grilled meats and fish directly at guests' tables, including Angus picanha, short ribs, cupim and grilled pineapple, all prepared using authentic churrasco techniques. Rather than following a traditional three-course structure, the dining experience evolves throughout the evening, encouraging guests to relax, socialise and enjoy a steady flow of freshly prepared dishes.

The new Amsterdam venue at Max Euweplein, between Leidseplein and Museumplein, offers an ideal setting with a large canalside terrace, an expanded cocktail bar and space for groups. Barraca aims to fill a growing demand for restaurants that combine exceptional food, lively hospitality and the ability to accommodate larger parties, positioning itself as a destination where dining becomes a memorable night out rather than simply a meal.
