LIQUID COUTURE DEBUTS IN AMSTERDAM
Following the inaugural Europe’s 50 Best Bars ceremony in Amsterdam, House of Noa transformed into the setting for the first edition of Liquid Couture, a new concept created and produced by creative director Zoë Bab, and hosted by world-renowned model and activist Gia Bab and award-winning hospitality entrepreneur Simone Caporale. Hidden beneath the UNESCO-listed Beurs van Berlage, the venue fully embraced the mood of an opium den, complete with glowing red lanterns and gilded Asian-inspired screens decorated with birds and botanical motifs.

The evening drew inspiration from the cinematic energy of early-1990s Hong Kong, while weaving in touches of Diana Ross glamour. As Gia Bab, Simone Caporale and Zoë Bab explain, “it was never about recreating history, but about blending different cultural references into one contemporary experience.”
Created as a meeting point between fashion, hospitality and culture, Liquid Couture brings together worlds that, according to its founders, have always shared the same creative language. “Fashion expresses identity through aesthetics, while hospitality creates connection through atmosphere and generosity,” they explain. “Cocktails, like fashion and art, are a form of storytelling.”
More than a showcase of cocktails, Liquid Couture felt like a perfect excuse to bring different creative circles into the same room. Fashion insiders, bartenders, creatives and media mingled throughout the night, bringing to life Gia, Simone and Zoë’s ambition to create a space where different creative disciplines could meet.
The cocktail menu echoed that same playful approach, offering drinks with names such as Espresso Martini “à la Dutch” Style, Pine’s “Not So Skinny” Bitch and Aperi-Pickle, alongside fresh interpretations of classics including the Citrus Rickey and a martini served at -10°C.
While maybe for Amsterdam this is just the beginning of the project, Gia, Simone and Zoë already see Liquid Couture as something far bigger than a one-night event. Conceived as an international platform where fashion, cocktail culture and hospitality intersect, the concept is expected to travel to other cities, continuing its mission of bringing creative communities together through shared experiences.
