LITA: MARYLEBONE'S SOUTHERN EUROPEAN GEM

words by NATALIE GAL

I must confess my personal bias for London (Amsterdam aside, of course!), but my judgment is unwavering when I declare this restaurant one of the city's hottest new spots! Chef Luke Ahearne masterfully brings the vibrant, southern European charm to Marylebone with LITA.

The name itself is deeply meaningful: LITA is short for "abuelita," meaning grandmother. We all know that special magic grandmothers bring to the table, the softness, kindness, and familiar care, is beautifully embodied within the restaurant. Guests are greeted by an inviting open-fire grill, a commitment to fresh, local produce, and a menu that evolves with the seasons. Just a few favorites include the Hereford beef with Amalfi lemon and shoestring fries, Norfolk quail with burnt pear and duck hearts, and a stunning Peak District T-bone steak. For dessert, indulge in Amalfi lemon meringue pie or a Yorkshire rhubarb mille feuille with Madagascan vanilla, blood orange, and ginger.

My absolute favorite detail, however, is the design. It captures that quintessential British warmth and the community feeling synonymous with beloved pubs. Natural light, earthy colors, terracotta tiles, and rich red marble, all complemented by luxurious blood orange mohair fabric. I'm utterly obsessed. See you all at LITA! Ta-ta!
