Aethos has just announced the opening of Aethos Lisbon in June 2027, a five-star, 60-room boutique hotel and members’ club in Estefânia, one of Lisbon’s most authentic central neighbourhoods. Building on the success of its Anjos members’ club, which opened in 2025, the new property represents the fullest expression of Aethos’s hybrid hospitality concept, combining accommodation, community and cultural experiences.
At the heart of the development is Villa Helena, a historic Portuguese residence restored to preserve its classical and Beaux-Arts architecture. Flanked by two contemporary buildings, the property blends local heritage with modern design, creating a relaxed, residential atmosphere. Barcelona-based Astet Studio is responsible for the restoration, architecture and interiors, with natural materials, warm tones and greenery reflecting Lisbon’s character.
The hotel’s 60 rooms and suites, each with private outdoor space, range from 28 to 70 sqm. Facilities include a spa with sauna, hammam and cold plunge, a fitness studio, outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, winter garden and two bars. The villa will house reception, lounges and dedicated members’ spaces.
Community and lifestyle are central to the concept, with programming organised around four pillars: Wellbeing, Culture, Connection and Experiences. Activities will range from wellness rituals, fitness and sound baths to DJ sessions, long-table dinners, exhibitions, talks and collaborations with local artists and producers.
Aethos Lisbon will also complement Aethos Ericeira, less than an hour away, creating a combined city-and-coastal experience. Together, the properties offer members and guests the opportunity to experience Lisbon’s cultural energy alongside Ericeira’s surf, coastline and relaxed Atlantic lifestyle.
