EVERYTHING WE THOUGHT WHILE WATCHING TROYE SIVAN'S 'PARTY' MUSIC VIDEO

Troye Sivan always brings forward great music, full of artistry, energy, and attitude. Party is one of the songs from his upcoming album She's the Best, and it is directed by Gordon von Steiner, releasing October 9th. Troye unveils the idea that partying is sacred, and much needed.
First and foremost, what a King, literally.
Secondly, using the sample of Madonna's song Music, iconic.
The opening of the music video is giving a mélange between historical war drama The King starring Timothée Chalamet, and one of the random wars in Chronicles of Narnia. Also, Gandalf's voice in the intro, very soothing. Who doesn't love Gandalf?
When the music starts while men are still killing each other around Sivan, it's almost the same energy we all feel after a Friday workday, ready to, well, party.
A random comment read "medieval version of Rush," couldn't agree more.
The fact that the word "party" is used literally in every sentence is a feast in itself. Yes, that's the word of the day, as a matter of fact, the word of every day.
The garments are not chosen only to resemble the era, they seem to be chosen according to light movement in the music video. Navy, dark green, black in dark interiors. Pastel, rose pink, ivory when the light hits the skin.
On that note, why is everyone's skin glowing? Splendid.
The most fabulous thing in this music video has to be the dancing. After all, what is a party without killer medieval break dance?
In the scenes where Troye is sitting in a throne-like chair and everything behind him is a mess, people sleeping on the ground, room turned upside down, we get a visually pleasing taste of what the afterparty not only looks like, but feels like. It also gives off frustrated Marie Antoinette waiting impatiently for everyone to leave so she can call them again the next day for another party.
Let them eat cake!
The song is a sign, a sign to party.
On an ending note, besides the incredible visuals and the catchy rhythm Sivan never fails to deliver, Party reminds us that life is a play, life is a party. Therefore, go dance.
