MOCHAKK’S COACHELLA TAKE-OVER WAS TRULY UNFORGETTABLE
This first Coachella weekend has been packed with great music and unforgettable moments; from the Bieber fever of it all to Ethel Cain’s dreamscape melancholia, we certainly had a time. But a performance that particularly moved us, and, this time, we’re talking mostly physically, was the one delivered by Brazilian electronic music star Mochakk, who took over the Sahara stage and had everyone bopping under the desert’s sunset.

The show went beyond conventional electronic music performances as Mochakk unveiled a full-on video game-inspired stage production created specifically for his Coachella takeover. The crowd, pulled into this spectacular Mochakk-verse, was unable to stop watching the striking visual on the Sahara stage’s massive screen. It was like being transported into this virtual, playable universe, as colours, lights and visuals amplified the mood created by the music. Mochakk didn’t stop at visuals; he further engaged the audience with interactive prompts that flashed across the screen, like a manic game of Kahoot.
The energy was high, and everything seemed to flow perfectly, like both the artist, the music, and the audience had entered a mutual state of connection. The set was perfectly curated, with highlights including “Jealous” and “Da Fonk” featuring Joni, which has over 55 million streams on Spotify. And he couldn’t leave us without giving us a taste of what’s to come, introducing the highly anticipated release of his recalibration of Nina Simone’s “See-Line Woman”.
Delivering a ground-breaking, immersive performance, Mochakk just had one of the most defining moments of his career, making global electronic music history and crystallising himself as a true force in the industry.
