YADE LAUREN ANNOUNCES SECOND STUDIO ALBUM “MS LAUREN” IN ARCHIVAL CHANEL
Following an avant-garde headline performance at Parels van de Stad, acclaimed Dutch artist Yade Lauren released her second studio album: Ms Lauren on Friday, September 25, 2026. The independent project marks her long-awaited return over six years after her debut Reflecties (2020). Stepping into the role of Creative Director, Yade brought post-apocalyptic Y2K references with archival runway edge to mirror the distorted, high-octane world of her new record.

Yade Lauren approached Parels van de Stad as an independently produced, narrative-driven live production. Directing every stage facet herself alongside show director Devon Suriya (AIKO), the performance was built on bespoke live musical arrangements, atmospheric visuals by Renzo van Dierendonck, and cinematic choreography led by Devante Walden. Curated in collaboration with stylists Nga Ho and Tirino Yspol, the visual identity centered on a concept described as "post-apocalyptic Y2K psychosis." Yade wore an archival vintage Chanel runway suit. Surrounding her, the cast each embodied distinct character arcs styled in rare vintage pieces from Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, DSquared2, and Ed Hardy.

The conceptual vision behind this new era came to life inside Hotel Okura Amsterdam, a serene sanctuary where Yade frequently retreats. Grounded in understated luxury and the Japanese philosophy of Omotenashi (mindful hospitality from the heart), Okura served as the official creative residence for Yade and her core team in the intimate days leading up to the stage reveal.
The hotel suite transformed into an active atelier where styling, beauty, and mental grounding converged. Working side by side in this private retreat, hair stylist Thirza King and makeup artist Yasmin Omin collaborated closely with Yade to develop distinct, individualized character aesthetics for both the artist and her entire cast. From sculpted, graphic braids and deconstructed facial textures to clean, striking glam, the beauty direction brought each persona into sharp focus before stepping onto the stage, offering a quiet, refined antithesis to the high-energy performance that followed.

At the center of Ms Lauren lies the complex dynamic between the private individual (Jade) and the commanding artist (Yade). Rather than adhering to conventional pop tropes, the project approaches the ego as an artistic shield and an unapologetic source of empowerment. The record documents an uninhibited cycle of grief, hedonism, resilience, and creative liberation, presenting an unfiltered portrait of self-possession.
Musically, Yade defines her sonic direction as "unhinged pretty girl trap," a collision of hard-hitting trap beats, heavy low-ends, and emotive R&B. Executive produced by long-time collaborator Houssam (known for his work with Drake and Yeat), the 21-track album unites her close circle, including producers Trobi and David van Dijk, alongside producer TH6 and song credits from Joel. Among the standouts is GGZ, an intimate examination of relationship dynamics, identity, and mental health. The album has since been released and is doing numbers across all platforms so far.
