LOUIS VUITTON'S WINNING MOMENT

words by FELICITY CARTER

Just before Spain defeated Argentina to win the FIFA World Cup last night, Louis Vuitton's Trophy Trunk took centre stage in all its glory. Presented by House ambassadors Carlos Alcaraz and Hoyeon, it marked another milestone in the Maison's longstanding partnership with FIFA.

Before kick-off at the FIFA World Cup final last night, Louis Vuitton once again delivered one of football's most recognisable pre-match moments as House ambassadors Carlos Alcaraz and Hoyeon presented the FIFA World Cup Trophy in its bespoke Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk alongside Spain's 2010 World Cup winner Andrés Iniesta and Argentina's 1978 World Cup winner Mario Kempes.

Crafted at Louis Vuitton's historic Asnières workshop just outside Paris, the trunk is finished in the House's signature Monogram canvas and features a hand-painted gold "V", representing both Victory and Vuitton. As for the interior, it’s lined in beige leather and designed specifically to protect and display football's most coveted trophy.

Louis Vuitton has created the official FIFA World Cup Trophy Trunk since the 2010 tournament, with the trophy travelling in a bespoke trunk at every World Cup final in South Africa, Brazil, Russia, Qatar and now the 2026 edition. As well as football, the House has also designed trophy trunks for the Ballon d'Or, Formula 1, the Australian Open, the Rugby World Cup and the Olympic Games.

The ceremony preceded Spain's 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina, securing the nation's second FIFA World Cup title, offering a signature Louis Vuitton moment before kick-off and highlighting the House's enduring connection to the world's biggest sporting occasions.
