PRADA LINEA ROSSA AND RED BULL GIVE WINGS TO PETER SALZMANN

Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull mark another chapter in their collaboration with a project that intersects athletics and technical revolution. As a part of its commitment to support innovation and inspiring athletes to go over limits of human movement, Prada Linea Rossa provided functional accessories to an Austrian wingsuit pilot Peter Salzmann, who travelled to El Hierro — the smallest and most remote of the Canary Islands — to attempt something that hasn’t quite been done before.
Using a specially developed foil wing, Salzmann managed to generate a sustained level flight, rather than the typical downward glide associated with wingsuiting. By working with the rising air along a mountain ridge, he was able to hold height and even gain altitude in moderate winds of around 40 km/h. During one of his passes, he climbed 67 meters above the ridgeline — roughly the height of a 22-storey building — purely through lift.
The result of these joint efforts proves what can happen when engineering, nature, and human skill come together. The project sets a new benchmark for the sport, and a reminder that challenge, when approached with dedication, can become something unexpectedly thrilling.
