CARHARTT WIP HAS US GIDDY FOR SPRING

Even one ray of sunshine is enough at the moment to send a jolt of energy and glee through our bodies, and looking at the latest Carhartt WIP collection has achieved something similar. Dearborn Canvas, the signature, heavy-duty 100% cotton fabric, alongside denim styles deliver everything we know and love about wearing Carhartt WIP in the spring. On a side note ever since the last episode of Heated Rivalry, we haven’t been able to stop thinking about how nice a trip to a cottage would be, and of course, what we’d be wearing there. Combining rugged outdoor influences with nods to 50s archetypes is exactly what Carhartt delivers in their latest Spring/Summer collection and is exactly what we’re going for.

While exploring new takes on prep and uniform-inspired silhouettes, the collection also features classic Carhartt WIP icons such as the OG Double Knee Pant, OG Active Jacket, and Detroit Jacket in a core palette of Hamilton Brown and black, green, subtly worn-in teal, and ‘stone canvas’ finishes.

These looks check all the boxes for a weekend in Ontario, Canada, from the lumberjack checks to hunting-inspired jackets. The coveted natural patina of archival items also comes through in the form of faded treatments and unique washes on coloured denim, twill, and cotton waffle. There are also some midcentury touches thrown in for good measure, with contemporary interpretations of 50s boxy collared shirts and cinch-back work pants in steely blues and greys.

Additionally, the collection introduces the Belmar Jacket, which retains elements from the classic ‘Type 2’ denim jacket such as the stitched pleats, shank buttons, and a back adjuster  but now also features chore pockets on the chest, perfect for any hiking or trailing knickknacks.

Meanwhile, nature-inspired elements appear in the prints, including a unique ‘camo snake’ hybrid pattern across the line. And when the height of summer reaches us, the collection still accommodates by combining loose-fitting silhouettes across short-sleeve shirts and shorts with a neutral palette of khaki and beige. If you like to stay ahead of the times, the collection is already available for purchase now!
