INSIDE MUGLER’S LATEST CHAPTER OF ‘THE WARDROBE OF IDENTITIES’

words by MAREK BARTEK

With the second chapter of The Wardrobe of Identities, Mugler continues to build on Creative Director Miguel Castro Freitas’ vision of fashion as something that evolves alongside the person wearing it. Identity is not fixed, and the Pre-Fall 2026 campaign captures its constant shifts, and the moments that eventually build up our everyday lives.

Photographed by Rafael Pavarotti and starring Saskia de Brauw, the campaign follows its protagonist through familiar settings, where sculpted tailoring, fluid draping and the iconic Mugleresque construction become visual markers of changing moods and perspectives. Pavarotti’s intimate framing keeps the focus firmly on the relationship between body and clothing, allowing each silhouette to communicate something different without feeling too theatrical. The house’s Aurora and Lua bags complete the evolving wardrobe.

Clothing has the power to transform not only how we are seen, but how we inhabit ourselves,” says Castro Freitas. “We move through different versions of ourselves every day… The Wardrobe of Identities is a celebration of that constant evolution.
— Miguel Castro Freitas

Available now, the Pre-Fall 2026 collection continues to define the new visual language taking shape at Mugler under Castro Freitas, exploring both the house’s sculptural heritage and a more intimate and emotionally driven perspective.
