A NEW TAKE ON BISTRÔ DINING IN PORTO WITH BARTOLOMEU BISTRO & WINE

Inspired by the spirit of exploration, Bartolomeu Bistrô & Wine brings the story of discovery to the table. Located within Torel 1884 Suites & Apartments, the restaurant takes its name from Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias and reflects the hotel's travel-inspired concept through a menu that draws on flavours from different cultures. Under the direction of Chef Miguel Neto, the focus is on relaxed, sharing-style dining, where seafood, seasonal ingredients and carefully balanced flavours take centre stage.

The menu consists of three chapters: Departure, Crossing and Arrival, inviting guests to build their own culinary journey or leave the experience in the chef's hands. While the dishes are rooted in the simplicity of a classic bistro, each one is shaped by careful technique and thoughtful combinations, with seafood playing a leading role throughout. Signature dishes include tuna and white fish tartare, marinated shrimp with citrus barley risotto, and the house's long-standing apple crumble.

Designed by Nano Design, the restaurant pairs natural materials, lush greenery and African-inspired details with an open kitchen that places the cooking at the heart of the experience. Beyond the dining room, Bartolomeu also hides one of its most distinctive spaces: a historic bank vault transformed into an intimate wine cellar, where guests can reserve a private dinner surrounded by one of the restaurant's greatest treasures.
