Few places surprised me quite like the coastline of Oualidia. Long favoured by Moroccans as a quiet seaside escape, the lagoon town has managed to preserve a sense of calm that feels increasingly rare along the country's Atlantic coast. An almost untouched place, people return here for something increasingly precious: a sense of space, nature, and simplicity. Here, life follows the rhythm of the tides.

On Morocco's Atlantic coast, between Safi and El Jadida, La Sultana Oualidia is inseparable from its extraordinary setting. Moroccan treasures such as saffron from Taliouine, cumin from Alnif, sea salt from Zerradoune, and argan oil from the Souss Valley appear alongside carefully sourced seafood and produce grown on-site. The result is cuisine that feels connected to the landscape rather than separate from it.
